It gets messy for Barcelona: Lionel Messi out for 8 weeks

Reports from Barcelona’s officials indicate that Messi, the explosive striker of Barcelona, will be out for 8 weeks after having a knee ligament damage during Barcelona-Las Palmas game (2-1). With such narrow lead on top of the league (1 point), it is feared that Messi’s absence shrinks Barcelona’s chance to win the trophy this year. It remains to see how other strikers will step up to the plate and answer the call as their traditional opponent, Real Madrid, would want to capitalize on the absence of Messi to amass victories and win the league.
