Haliboys Serves Up Authentic Mexican-American from California

Good news about good food travels fast and that holds true for HaliBoyz Mexican – American Grille located at 388 Amherst Street, Buffalo. Lines are already forming for the new restaurant located on the corner of Amherst and Grant Street.

The HaliBoyz Mexican – American Grille is owned and operated by brothers Malak and Nour Mazeh who consider themselves along with their partner Haider Khadim, Cali- Buffalonian. They are all from the state of California. Malak and Nour came here to visit their brother who lives in Buffalo and married a girl from the area he met while attending Buffalo State College.

The brothers loved the area and felt Buffalo was a great place to live and raise a family. “Buffalo kinda grows on you. We knew it was for us”! says older brother Mazeh. “Our restaurant logo combines the bear and the buffalo. “The bear for the state of California and well you can guess about the buffalo”, says brother Nour with a big smile. Both brothers break out into a full laugh as Malak adds, “Don’t trust a skinny chief”.

Grandparents from San Luis Potosi Mexico and a mother who kept all their recipes are the inspiration of HaliBoyz Mexican – American Grille menu. Sopes include beans, cabbage, onions and cotija cheese or Tortas with beans, onions, cilantro, mayo and queso fresco are all served with a variety of meat, shrimp or vegetable choices are delicious and made fresh. Tacos can be enjoyed and savored for as low as $1.50 each or a chicken burrito that includes rice, beans, cheese, onions, and cilantro for only $5.99.
