I speak every day with residents around my district, many who share their concerns and suggest ways to make our community stronger. From discussing their thoughts on pending legislation, to requesting aid with persistent local problems – the feedback is steady and appreciated. But, by far, the most common conversation I have with folks revolves around employment. A family member who has been stuck on unemployment. A loved one who can’t get a job in the field they’ve pursued. Or simply someone looking to make a few extra dollars to help pay the bills. I’ve long worked to help link these people with job openings in both the public and private sectors.

Unemployment remains an issue here, but with the growth in opportunity that continues to build in the Western New York region, it’s one that we can make a real dent in. With that in mind, my office is working to elevate our efforts. I’m proud to announce we’ve created a new website that lists as many of the job openings in the area as we can find. The new website, KennedyJobs.com, or the Kennedy Jobs File as we’ve named it, is up and running, and aims to connect Western New Yorkers with existing employment opportunities. We’re updating it every single week with the newest jobs we’ve come across from a whole range of sources and industries.

We’ve listed jobs with Pegula Sports & Entertainment, FedEx, the New York State Department of Corrections, Panasonic, and dozens more. Other employers are even offering open interviews, such as Weinberg Campus and The Summit Center. Whether it’s a teenager looking for a part time job, or a college graduate aiming to get into public service, there are truly options for everyone.

I’d encourage anyone who is looking for employment or a career change to take a look at the jobs that we’ve assembled. And if you aren’t looking for a job, please share this with your friends and family so they know that there are options out there. Western New York is full of open jobs, if you know where to look. Whether it’s in manufacturing, office work, retail, medical, or anything else, there are employers who have open positions right now.

Additionally, if you are an employer with open positions, please let my office know. You can send your job postings, along with a link to each opening, to our team at kennedyjobsfile@gmail.com.

My office is committed to connecting job seekers and employers. It helps reduce unemployment, it helps local businesses, and it helps Western New York become stronger overall. If you have any questions about how to use this new resource, feel free to give my office a call at 716-826-2683.
